The journey to Ha Long Bay was ferocious, the driver forced his way along the road without care for the oncoming traffic. Lorries, buses and bikes zoomed around each other at 50 - 70km/p/hour in the gloom of an impending storm. Our first experience on the bumpy carriageways of Vietnam and I expected it to be our last, yet within three incredibly long hours we arrived at dusk to the Bay of 2000 islands. The next day owed us an exploration among the rugged seascape of limestone rock descending to the salty water like the back of a crestfallen mythical dragon...
