Photos: The wonders of people, Hoi An, Vietnam

Hoi An is a magical city, one that takes you back to when the Portuguese first took advantage of this port as its key trading point with eastern Asia. The beautiful wooden and brick yellow colonial shacks of the town are reminiscent of many other Latin countries. As we cycled out of the main centre we encountered the production houses of the locals, creating bamboo boats, weaved mats and pottery from their yards - still earning this way and still earning a fragment in a day of what Developed country people earn in a single hour. There was a magic in how wholesome this appeared, fresh, organic and utterly original - nothing needed innovating here, it needs to be spread throughout what some of us call "life" - back to nature, back to products made by the hands from the land.
